On Saturday August 5th at 3pm and 7.30pm we will have our first Blues, Boogie and Swing Special where not one, but two of the saxophonists from the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will go toe to toe for your approval. Our dear friend Derek Nash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH3z_a1lQcc and, making his HJC debut, Mr Phil Veacock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYE9NT52P8sHJC will be accompanied in this groove-laden feast by guitarist Denny Ilett, director of the Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival, by organist Jim Watson who has worked with Sting, Katie Melua and in the BBC’s ’Strictly’ band and I will be on drums. Expect a party atmosphere with some healthy rivalry, a few laughs and some dancing thrown in for good measure.
