Mr Robert’s reading of Christmas Carol – with piano accompaniment

Bah Humbug – Christmas is starting too early again.’ The cards, gift catalogues, the shopping centre jingles. It’s enough to destroy the whole spirit of Christmas. So how do you rescue those seasonal joys? The answer is to come along to experience the original ‘Christmas Carol’ reading in Hadleigh by the highly acclaimed Anthony Roberts. Like Santa on his sleigh, Mr Roberts will magically arrive at 7.30pm on Sunday the 8th December and mesmerise those able to get tickets to journey through Charles Dicken’s world of Scrooge, Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future and the biggest turkey Tiny Tim has ever seen.
Anthony Roberts is the Director of the Colchester Arts Centre and matches Simon Callow, and Miriam Margolyes in his prowess in bringing Dickensian world of the 19th Century to life. As you may have heard rumoured, many of our Yuletide traditions commenced with Charles Dicken’s magical story of finding the meaning of Christmas; discover them in this mesmerising retelling of the tale.
So, come and join us for a glass of Mulled Wine and a Mince Pie (thank you Morrisons) at the Hadleigh Sea Scout HQ, just off Layham Playing Fields and the bottom of Duke Street. Tickets are just £5 each (cash only) available from Keith Avis and The Little Ginger Bee Company. All proceeds are going to the Hadleigh Sea Scouts charity.
