DESCRIPTION:BOOK HERE \nOperatic music from across the years and genres. From classic to contemporary\, Mozart to Musicals\, Madam Butterfly to Miss Saigon. \nPerformed by Simon and Sarah Thompson and Sarah Gallop\, from Hadleigh Community Choir\, joined by Mick and Helen Wilson from South Anglia Savoy Players\, our accompanist is Christopher Moore.  With a wide-ranging repertoire and a lounge style feel\, this promises to be an evening of fun\, surprises\, and wonderful music. \nDoors open at 6.45pm.  The performance starts at 7.30pm on Friday 25th November. \nThere will be a licensed bar and an interval. \nTickets are £15 per seat (full) and £12 (U21/Income Support) and can be purchased via EventBrite\, with no booking fee! \nhttps://whatsoperadoc.eventbrite.co.uk

SUMMARY:"Darkness and light are both alike” – Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Maiden art show by The Very Revd Jo Delfgou\, including many bodyform pictures in striking black and white strokes\, capturing the beauty of the female body.  Father Jo often discusses the art of creation with Chattisham artist Cris Coe\, and she makes a return visit to Hadleigh Old School gallery presenting her most recent work alongside that of the Dean. \nFather Jo speaks about the inspiration for his work: “In an attempt to encourage my older son during his Art A level\, I found some chalks I had been given as a present a few years before. Inspired by the beauty of the female form and the way shadow and light work together to create form\, I found an excitement in drawing. Moving to Hadleigh and to the Deanery four years ago allowed me to have an attic room that could be left ready for “art”. And the encouragement of other local artists and art lovers has seen my desire to draw grow. The images are all chalk on black or white paper and focus on “dark and light” creating form together. Likewise\, some of the images present a darkness that is often ignored. The title of the exhibition is a line from a Psalm – that part of holy writing that is very honest and points out the complexity of being human!” \nExamples of Father Jo’s work can be seen below– as well as studies of humanity\, he has also produced landscapes and floral works\, with pictures available in a range of sizes and at affordable prices. \nSpecial Preview at 7pm on Friday 18th November – please email hadleigholdschool@gmail.com to attend. \nThen free public entry 10am-5pm Saturday 19th November and 11am-4pm Sunday 20th November.

DESCRIPTION:Small Town Duty is Nigel Crisp’s new book of tales of Hadleigh’s Great War\, with over 400 pages of stories\, maps and photographs.  At a special event on Remembrance Day the author will give a talk on how the book came together. Mark Brennan\, Chairman Hadleigh British Legion\, will introduce the evening\, 7pm Friday 11th November\, just show up (unticketed). You are welcome to bring wartime memorabilia and share stories\, Licensed bar service. \nHadleigh Old School will also be open for book sales 10am-1pm Saturday 12th November.
