A celebration of all things horticultural and artistic fused together.

The programme promises to offer something for everyone. The Festival is honouring the artist and plants man Cedric Morris who lived and worked in Hadleigh.

Famous for his award winning tall bearded Irises, we chose the iris as our festival logo. We are establishing the Cedric Morris Gardens and will have talks about the Artist by Maggie Hambling, while Sarah Cook will explain his skills as a plants man.

The High Street will be dressed with floral bunting and baskets of colour. The High street traders taking up the theme in every window display.

We will be casting a few spells and sprinkling a little fairy dust at our Magical Picnic, inspired by the collection of Flower Fairies created by Cecily Mary Barker. Other Wizards, Elves and Pixies will of course be very welcome. Story book characters such as Bill & Ben, Worzel Gummidge and The Secret Garden will features in activities for children.

For those who fail with their fuchsias or despair over their Dahlias our Gardener’s Question Time will help solve those vexing gardening problems.

Hadleigh is one of the places to visit within the Wool Towns region. We are all communities that grew and prospered as a result of the woollen cloth trade from 14th to 17th century, creating a rich legacy of history and heritage.
