January 7 @ 10:15 - 12:00
Hope you all had a good Christmas and new year celebration – Happy New Year! The Tidy Town Volunteers enjoyed a Christmas lunch at the Queens Head and also some of us saw the new year in together.
We had the first pick of the year today around town centre and cleaned up the recycling area etc and also Calais Recreation park. The first pick after new year has in the past been pretty bad, but this year we were pleasantly surprised and pleased to report that it was not. One bag of rubbish has been left for collection near the exit of Magdalen Road car park and also some broken cardboard boxes and metal handle bars. The recycling collected has been disposed of in our blue bins. There used to be a waste bin at the entrance/exit of the High Street car park (beside Barclays Bank) which was broken and removed. However, the base still remains with sharp and jagged edges and really needs to be removed.
